Back in the day, the most preferred occupations were either from the healthcare industry or information technology. Even today, many of us have a career choice of a doctor or engineer.

The reason for choosing such professions is to have a secure and long-lasting field of work. The health sector is one of such domains that have endless job opportunities because health and well-being are inevitable.

Many studies reveal that baby boomers need more medical attention these days as they are prone to catch diseases quickly.

When we plan for our future or professional life, our preference inclines towards a secure and well-paying job. There are multiple reasons one will prefer to have a career in the healthcare industry.

It cannot be possible without having some specialized education; this is why med schools are there. Once you complete your medical degree, you can add more specializations and start a career that can pay you more than you expect.

Not to forget that we cannot grab the highest rank without experience and expertise. There is no denying that the healthcare sector is the primary source of jobs in the United States of America.

Bureau of Labor Statistics suggests an increase of 18% in medical field jobs between the years 2016-2026. The prevailing perception about a career in the medical field is that only doctors have highly paid jobs.

The reality is the opposite. There are many other career options in the healthcare industry that offers good salaries besides being non-physician jobs. If you have an education in the medical field and are thinking about the highly paid career, here are a few suggestions for you.

1. Surgeons and Physician

When we enter a hospital, physicians and surgeons are what we usually see there. A physician performs diagnostic treatments like compiling case histories, recommending tests, and deciding medicines.

A physician can also support his or her diet pattern by referring it to a nutritionist. Surgeons, on the other hand, are specialized physicians that perform surgeries.

The responsibility of the surgeon includes treating deformities, stitching up internal injuries, and different operative treatments. The median pay of physicians and surgeons is $208,000 per year. On average, they can earn up to a hundred dollars per hour.

2. Dentistry

Oral hygiene is also essential besides other areas of well-being. We cannot afford to have bad breath or an imperfect smile.

Dental treatments are one of the most expensive procedures, and this career is in demand after physicians. A dentist specializes in diagnosing and treating issues that are related to gums and teeth.

They also have the training to use dental tools properly. They can earn up to 75.12 dollars per hour and approximately $156,240 per year as their median salary.

3. Pharmacists

Pharmacists are not physicians, but they are an integral part of the healthcare system. Without a pharmacist’s help, and their manufacturing, we cannot get medicine.

These individuals dispense the prescription of medication for particular ailments, their dosage, and alternate solution. They also assess the usage and combination of a prescribed drug with other drugs that a patient is taking.

They also shoulder the responsibility for educating patients about their intake of medicines and other precautionary measures related to medications. If you choose your career as a pharmacist, you can make up to $60.64 per hour and a median salary of $126,120 annually.

4. Radiation Therapist

Without a technical team in a medical setup, a hospital cannot run its operations. A doctor is not specialized to perform x-rays or using the radiation machinery. For this purpose, trained individuals get the opportunity to help doctors in diagnosing the disease or pathology.

Radiation therapists do not have to undergo a medical school but a specialized study in radiology and skills to operate them. As a radiation therapist, you can earn a median salary of about $77, 340 a year.

5. Physical Therapist

When we face some muscular pains or trouble moving any of our joints, we get the referral to a physical therapist. These individuals have the training to heal the injuries by assessing the requirements and carrying out a program.

They help patients with recoveries from physical traumas, muscle failure, or partial paralysis. By choosing this career pathway, you can earn about $76,220 per year.

6. Advanced Practitioner Nurse

Nurses are the right hand of doctors. They assist a doctor in many ways that include monitoring the vitals of a patient, observing their conditions, looking after their medications, and educating them about their health.

Advanced practitioner nurses can work as registered nurses, anesthetists, and clinical nurse specialists. As an advanced practice nurse, you can earn up to $150,000 per annum.

It is not mandatory to be a doctor if you want to have a career in the medical field; there are multiple options within the healthcare system, offering attractive salary packages. The healthcare system jobs are booming because people are getting more health and fitness conscious day by day aiming to stay healthy. People prefer careers in health sectors as this profession never dies, and it also offers attractive income designations.
