The past decade has seen the rise of Yogic practices among people. Many Yoga enthusiasts in have joined Yoga courses in India, to learn it in a better way and reap benefits from it. However, there are a number of people who still believe the Yoga is nothing but spiritual exercise and thus prefer working out in the gym.

It is true that Yoga also incorporates meditation that helps a person to attain mental relaxation and frees him from stress. This in turn helps the person to stay calm and fills him with positivity. But, thinking that Yoga is just about mental health and peace is a myth. Over the years, people who have practiced Yoga have cited miraculous recovery from diseases and pains without any medical intervention. Time and again, Yoga gurus have stressed on the physical benefits that one can reap from engaging in Yogic exercises.

Take a look at these five reasons that will make you believe that yoga is not just a spiritual exercise but also a physical one.

1. Enhances Flexibility of the Body:

Most Yogasanas require you to twist and turn your body. This might sound a bit difficult and initially you might encounter problems in attaining perfection. But, with time and practice you will be able to do these perfectly. What’s more you will find that your body has become more flexible.

2. Lubricates Joints, Tendons and Ligaments:

When you engage in various Yogic exercises, your joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments feel the pull. This is true for the exercises which might seem quite easy and less strenuous. This makes your body parts flexible and lubricates the joints. This reduces your chances of injury. Also this ensures that all your joints and muscles work in complete harmony with each other. Thus people who do Yoga do not face age related problems of the joints.

3. A Massage to all Organs:

When you go to the gym, you exercise all your muscles. However, these exercises hardly do much for your internal organs. On the other hand, Yoga is said to work on all the glands and internal organs of your body. This keeps the organs healthy and reduces any risk of diseases and other ailments.

4. Detoxifies:

According to a teacher of Yoga training in India, when you engage in Yoga, it lubricates all the joints and massages all the organs which is turn ensures that there is enough blood supply to these organs. This in turn ensures that all the toxins in the body are flushed out and all organs are provided with better nourishment.

5. Toned Muscles:

The Yoga exercises provide enough strain to all the muscles of the body. This helps in toning down the muscles that are flabby and makes you look fit. This also helps you to lose excess weight.

Yoga is an exercise that heals your body as well as your mind. So, it is a good idea to take up Yoga courses in India to improve fitness as well as to relieve stress.
