Will My Vagina Be Noticably Larger or Loose After Childbirth?

For almost every woman, becoming a mother is a goal that has to be achieved. However, asides the pain that comes with labour and the stress that comes with taking care of babies, some other things bother a woman especially if she is giving birth to her child vaginally.

One of those causes for worry is whether or not the vagina will return to its original size of level of tightness after childbirth.

If you are wondering what happens to the tightness of your vagina when a human comes out of it, the first thing you should have in mind is that bringing a child into the world is a beautiful thing. And regardless of the changes, you notice in your body; you remain one of the most beautiful people in the world.

Now, whether or not the level of tightness of your vagina returns to its original size after you give birth depends on a few factors: The size of your baby, how many kids you have had, genetics, and how regularly you do kegel exercises.

After birthing a child through the vagina, it is only reasonable that the vagina becomes larger than it was before and this change in size is usually more pronounced after the birth of a large baby. The increase in size is caused by the relaxation of your pelvic floor musculature.

With every successive delivery, the pelvic floor muscles will lose their tone, but the good news is that pelvic floor exercises are there to help you tighten up those muscles.

For some ladies, the vagina looks the same on the outside but becomes noticeably more open on the inside, and for some other, they notice wrinkles on their vagina lips. Some women have claimed that they got tighter and more textured on the inside making sex more enjoyable.

All of these differences boil down to genetics and how you care for your vagina after the birth of your child.

Some women do not think it is Important to do workouts after childbirth, but it is, in fact, a very prudent thing if you seek to get back in shape and lose all that pregnancy weight or tighten your vagina.

Kegel exercises are suitable for both men and women as they help to tone muscles in the reproductive area. For women, Kegel involves perineal tightening and help to restore the tone of the muscles that surround the vagina, anus, and the opening of the urethra.

If you decide to engage in Kegel exercises for tightening, it is vital that you identify the right muscles to work on. The tissue you are required to focus on is the muscle that you use to stop and start the flow of urine. To identify the right muscle, try testing your kegel technique while peeing.

If you notice that upon muscle contraction you can stop and start the flow of your urine, then you have found the correct muscle. However, we do not advise that you do your kegel while urinating after you have been able to identify the muscle you were looking for, doing so can potentially cause urinary problems and even weaken the muscles.

As with every other exercise, start your kegel exercise with just a few reps daily. When your muscles begin to feel stronger, you can gradually increase the number of times you exercise in a day and the length of the time you hold each muscle contraction.

Do your kegel workouts in sets of ten as work as many sets as you can about four to five times every day. The good thing about Kegel exercises is that they can be done while you are standing, sitting, or even lying down.

Asides improving your vagina tone after childbirth, pelvic floor exercises help to prevent urinary incontinence later in life thus kill two birds with a stone. You don’t have to be at home to do your kegel exercises.

While you are driving, while you type on your computer, while you cook or even when you are in the shower, you can tighten that pelvic floor muscle and get the exact result you are looking for.

Some creams and pills claim to work as vagina tightening agents, but the truth is, the more of these products you purchase, the less outcome you get. The cause of the looseness is a weakened muscle, and the only thing that can strengthen or tone the muscle is engaging it as frequently as you can.
