Make sure you go for less processed and unsweetened cocoa powder, also, ensure that the brand you are buying has a very high content of flavonoid.

Does Cocoa powder React With Drugs?

Yes, there are some drugs that shouldn’t be taken with cocoa, it can interact with these drugs and affect their influence on your body. If you are on any medication, make sure you ask your doctor if it is safe to take cocoa powder while you are on the drugs.

Cocoa powder interacts with drugs for diabetes, depression, and asthma. It also interacts with theophylline, phenylpropanolamine, ergotamine, dipyridamole, and clozaril.
