How to prevent?
To avoid strains and sprains can be prevented by maintaining a healthy lifestyle, a proper diet, exercise and sleep are very important to keep your body functioning properly. If you are already exhausted or tired then then performing an equally tiring activity, like; exercise, lifting of heavy objects or running can also cause strains or sprains. It is suggested that a person avoid over stressing his body when it has already been under pressure.
Wearing uncomfortable shoes is also a common strain and sprain cause; if you wear shoes in which you can walk, run or work properly then there will be less chance of your muscles getting affected by strains or sprains. Sometimes people wake up complaining about a strain or sprain problem, the position you sleep at and your mattress and pillow can be a reason to regular muscle pains and sprains. Sleep in a comfortable position, and make sure your pillow is not the reason for your muscle problems.
Your posture at work can cause regular sprains and strains. It is very important to maintain your posture and sit in a comfortable and muscle/joint friendly position that allows you to perform your activities without any fatigue or joint problems.
When the problem gets big?
Ankle sprains are the most common form of sprains; if you cannot walk properly for a long time then it is recommended that you consult a doctor. If you feel the affected muscle or any other muscle getting numb then also a doctor’s check-up is needed.
