Liquid Neuropathy Supplements Versus Pills: Which Are Better?

People are gradually seeing the need to pay more attention to their nerve health. With the growing number of neuropathy cases all over the world, it isn’t surprising that many are now turning to supplements to keep their nerves in tip-top shape.

Why Take Nerve Supplements

While there are a lot of dangers that threaten nerve health, neuropathy is probably the most common yet relatively unknown among them. Also known as nerve pain, neuropathy takes many forms and comes with symptoms that vary on the type of nerve that has been damaged.

It is considered a category of symptoms rather than a disease itself. This is because it comes with underlying causes like physical trauma, repetitive injury autoimmune disorders, infections, and chronic ailments like diabetes.

Because of this, experts have started to collect more data on how to keep human nerves healthy. Some of them have started to support supplementation of nutrients for better nerve health. These supplements have also been used in alternative treatments like homeopathy, which utilizes all-natural sources.

Most nerve supplements have the same key ingredients, including benfotiamine, Alpha-lipoic acid (ALA), Vitamin B12, Vitamin B6, and Omega-3 fatty acids. However, not all supplements are created equal. Some are reportedly more effective than others.

Nerve Supplements: Liquid Vs. Pill

Aside from its active ingredients, another factor that affects the efficacy of supplementation is its dosage form. While some nutrients provide more benefits when slowly broken down by the body, others require quick absorption.

This means some nutrients have better effects when taken in liquid dosages while others should be given in solid tablet or pill form. With that said, below are the known pros and cons of liquid neuropathy supplements and their pill counterparts.

Absorption and Bioavailability

Absorption of nutrients from supplements is arguably one of the most talked-about topics by consumers simply because it has been subjected to numerous urban legends. At one point, absorption became the biggest selling point of liquid supplements as many people believe that since it is in liquid form, it is easily absorbed by the body.

Unfortunately, this isn’t always the case as this assumption came from a myth suggesting that when the colour of a person’s urine changes, the vitamins, and minerals in the supplements they take aren’t absorbed enough and have been wasted. The truth is, urine changes colour with the intake of Vitamin B2, a.k.a. riboflavin. This means that anytime this particular B-vitamin is present, urine is bound to change into a more yellowish hue.

Even so, liquid nerve health supplements like Nervestra have been found to have better absorption as experts pegged it at 98 percent while supplements in capsule form only have a 39 to 53 percent absorption rate. This also means that the nutrients included in the liquid supplement are more bio-available since it is stored in the body and can be used whenever needed.

Cost and Effectiveness

Liquid and tablet forms of nerve supplements also vary in cost. The tincture bottle drop form of Nevestra, for example, provides consumers with flexibility in a dose for just $44 per 48-serving bottle in Amazon while a 30-day supply of tablets of Nerve Renew is set at $69.

When suggested serving is followed, it is clear that the liquid dosage nerve health supplement is more affordable than its pill counterpart.

On the other hand, the dosage of liquid supplement can be changed to achieve its maximum effectiveness while tablets and pills have a fixed dose.

Taste-wise, typical solid dosage supplements like Nerve Renew may have the upper hand since most liquid forms have that medicine-like aftertaste. However, Nevestra is different as it is mixed with food and beverages taken by the consumer, thereby removing that particular disadvantage.
