So, the real question here is what can we do to protect our eyes in winter? To freely enjoy it without any eye problems there are some things that you can do to prevent these from happening.

In this article, I will be sharing with you some tips that will make your eye problems go away. And these tips are compiled with the help of Schaeffer Eye Center, who lent their expertise to us in order to compile this list. Before starting just keep in mind that it is normal for you to encounter some problems with your eyes in winter, don’t worry these are five things that you can do to take care of your eyes in winter.

The first and maybe the most simple but effective one is surprisingly wearing sunglasses. You might be asking yourself why do I have to wear sunglasses in winter? Well, the answer to this is very simple. Because you don’t see the sun that much in winter doesn’t mean that the sun doesn’t affect your eyes.

Even in winter days in which we don’t see the sun much, there are still UV rays affecting your eyes. So, it is good to keep in mind that if you are having problems with your eyes in winter you should try wearing sunglasses.

Moisturizing your eyes. Well, you may not have realized it but in winter because of low tear production in your eyes they get very dry so the best thing to do is Moisturizing them once in a while. You can do this by using eye drops, you can get eye drops from dispensaries or you can speak to your doctor about getting them. Using the eye drops three times a day will make your eyes much more moisturized and will help a lot.

The third tip worth giving is staying away from electronic devices. Because in winter your eyes are already under a lot of pressure. Okay, this is a tough one when we are living in the age of technology, but you should really think about staying away and not looking at your electronic devices for a while If you are having problems with your eyes in winter. These electronic devices could be your phone, your computer, your television and the list go on. Even if you can not do this for a very long time it is best to take a break from these devices until your eyes feel better.

Put a distance between yourself and your heat source. I know we all want to feel the heat on our skins when it is cold outside but it is actually creating problems for our eyes. Remember winter makes dry eyes, and to much heat makes the same effect on our eyes, so no need to make things even worse put a distance to your heat source to avoid this problem.

Treat your eyes as soon as possible. When you feel you have a problem with your eyes don’t just rub them and wait for it to pass. If you are having some problems with your eyes in winter you should really think about doing something about it. One of the best things you can do is putting a warm damp cloth on your eyes for 20 minutes and wait for them to do better. If you are still having the same problems don’t panic, make an arrangement with your eye doctor if none of the things you try to work out the way you want.

Winter can be a huge problem when it comes to our eyes. But if we do some things different, we can help them to get better. There is great importance in knowing all of these tips and applying them to solve eye problems in winter.
