High costs, and unpleasant side effects have caused many people to return to all natural treatments for their minor illnesses and injuries. These simple remedies are often inexpensive, effective, and do not produce unexpected side effects.

Next time you want to feel better quicker, give these a try before going to the pharmacy.

Oatmeal Baths

If you have sensitive skin or suffer from dry skin during the winter months, try using oatmeal to treat your condition. Place one cup of oatmeal in a sock and tie the end. Place in a warm or hot bath, and soak your body in it for 20 to 30 minutes. Gently pat dry after soaking.

The oatmeal contains fats, which help to nourish skin and complex sugars that help to hold in moisture.

Herbal Teas

Herbal teas can help used for a variety of discomforts. For a cold, sipping herbal teas can help to unclog sinuses, and soothe sore throats. Lemon balm tea can lift spirits and improve concentration. Peppermint teas can help to reduce gas and bloating. Tea made from chamomile can help induce sleep.

Rosehip tea is full of vitamin C, to help boost your immune system to resist colds and flu.

Ginger for Nausea

Ginger has been used for thousands of years in Chinese medicine to relieve nausea and soothe stomach upset. Infuse some fresh ginger in hot water, and place in ice cube trays. After they are frozen, you can smash the cubes and suck the ice chips for soothing relief throughout the day.

If you are taking other medications, check with your doctor before using ginger or another herb affair, which can heighten or reduce the effects of some drugs.
