Don’t Let Time Take Its Toll On Your Skin – Try Botox Injections Instead

It’s an unfortunate but inescapable fact that as we age, time inevitably takes a toll on our skin. Before you know it, frown lines, crows’ feet and laugh lines are present and age seems like an unbeatable force – something we can’t win against, no matter how hard we try.

Fortunately, these days there is a way to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles that is non-invasive and won’t disrupt your life, but will help you gain ground back in the fight against aging.

That solution is Botox. Botox is an injectable substance used for cosmetic purposes, derived from the botulinum toxin. It works by “paralyzing” the muscles that can cause lines and wrinkles, thus causing them to stop moving in ways that create those wrinkles and improving the overall appearance of your face and skin.

If Botox is injected by professionals who know what they’re doing, it can even be used strategically to combat medical issues such as mild brow ptosis (droopy eyebrow) or hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating) as well as taking years off the look of your face for cosmetic purposes.

Using a reputable clinic with a history of patient satisfaction like Toronto’s Skin Vitality is the best way to ensure that your Botox treatment does everything possible to help reduce the look of lines and wrinkles on your skin.

Although most patients have no problem with the minor discomfort these kinds of Botox injections cause, most clinics also offer the option of numbing the area where the injections are to occur before the procedure begins.

Options for numbing may include a cold spray in which cold air is directed to the skin for ten seconds to temporarily numb the area, injections of a numbing medication, or the use of a prescription cream that can be applied to the face 60 to 90 minutes prior to the procedure.

Once the area is numb, the doctor will use a thin needle to inject Botox into your skin. The number of injections required depends on the extent and depth of the wrinkles you’re looking to treat, as well as how many areas need to be treated. Since this is a non-invasive procedure, you can return to your normal daily activities right after the injections take place.

Overall, Botox is a wonderful procedure to try if time is making your skin look dull or aged. A few injections can help to turn back the clock and improve the look of your skin by diminishing fine lines and wrinkles.

Botox can smooth out the lines on your forehead, around your eyes and even your mouth, taking years off your face and leaving you looking youthful and rejuvenated.

  1. Love that you included this topic in your blog. I also thought there was such a stigma around Botox but tried it for the first time at 30 and really loved the results. Due to the price I am trying to limit how frequently I get it, but I saw the results and truly loved them!
