Crohn’s disease is a condition where the bowls become inflamed. The exact cause of Crohn’s disease is not known. Doctors say that high-stress levels and a poor diet can make the symptoms of Crohn’s worse. If a person has a weakened immune system that is not able to fight off germs and bacteria. If the immune system is not working to its full potential then it can lead to some health issues. Some people can also blame their heredity for Crohn’s disease. if they have family members that have this condition they are more likely to get it. Not everyone that has Crohn’s disease can blame it on their family members.
There are some things that will put a person at an increased risk for Crohn’s. while a person can be affected by this disease at any age many people will stay to experience symptoms while they are young. The majority of people with Crohn’s disease will have this condition diagnosed by the doctor by the time they are 30 years old.
People that are of European and Jewish origins have a great risk for developing this disease. It is also starting to show up in African Americans and other ethnic groups that live in North America.
Cigarette smoking puts a person at high risk for Crohn’s disease. Smoking is the number one risk factor for this condition and it is something that can easily be controlled for.
If Crohn’s disease is left untreated then there may be some more serious complications that may happen.
This disease will affect the intestinal wall and its thickness. Over time the walls may become scared and can block the flow of stool when it goes to leave the body. A portion of the bowel may need to be removed surgically.
Chronic inflammation can lead to open sores in the digestive tract which are known as ulcers. They can even affect other regions such as the mouth, anus, and the genital area.
This is when the ulcers will affect the walls of the intestines. They can also form between the intestines and the skin. If they develop in a certain area they can drain the content of the bowls onto the skin. This can lead to abscesses and infections. If not treated they can become very dangerous.
In some cases, cancers may develop including colon cancer. The older a person is the greater the risk they will be at developing cancer.

There are also some supplements that can be recommended by the doctor to help the body absorb foods and other things properly.
