This is one of the oldest, most widespread drug that causes a persistent drug problem. Many American adults abuse alcohol frequently. This is because alcohol is easy to acquire, appealing, addictive, and dangerous.

The length of time alcohol stays in the depends with the body’s blood alcohol concentration (BAC). Alcohol overdose becomes possible when the BAC reaches 0.28. However, this depends on the age, gender, body weight, and how long the victim has been drinking.

Alcohol is quickly absorbed into the bloodstream, but it takes a longer time for the body to get rid of. Binge drinking increases the blood alcohol levels within a short time, and the effects can overwhelm the body, sedating critical areas of the brain. This can lead to an overdose.

Known by various names, this drug has over 400 chemicals, the major one being Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). A typical “joint” contains up to 8 percent TCH, but this can be as high as 30 percent in some joints.

THC is fat soluble, and will stay a long time in the system because it can be easily stored in the fat cells of the body.
