Tea Tree Oil Remedy

Tea tree oil contains the power antiseptic agents making it a well-known ingredient in a wide range and skin care & hair care products. Along with that, this oil helps to combat brittle nails caused due to fungal infections. Furthermore, it aids in dealing with discolored nails. The method is:

Ingredients:

  • Tea tree oil – 5 to 6 drops
  • Olive oil – ½ tablespoon

Directions:

The initial step is adding the tea tree oil in the olive oil. The following step is rubbing the solution thoroughly on your nails and waiting for thirty minutes. Then, use lukewarm water to wash your nails and pat dry. Lastly, apply a moisturizing lotion. This treatment should be followed 2 times day for one month.

Beer Soak for Brittle Nails

Beer Soak for Brittle NailsA combination of ACV, beer and olive oil is an excellent natural remedy for brittle nails. Beer can make your nails and hair strong and healthy since it is enriched with biotin, phosphorus, potassium and selenium. Olive oil in this treatment helps to moisturize the chipped and dry nail cuticles from within. Here’s the method:

Ingredients:

  • Beer – ½ cup
  • Apple cider vinegar – ¼ cup
  • Olive oil – ¼ cup

Firstly, heat the olive oil till it is warm to touch and later add the ACV and beer to it. Thereafter, soak the fingertips in this solution for the duration of 15 minutes. This remedy can be repeated once to twice weekly to attain desired results.

Using Olive Oil & Lemon Juice Soak

A combination of olive oil and lemon juice is an amazing treatment for dry brittle nails. Lemon juice has the ability to fortify damaged and peel nails. Along with that, it takes ugly yellowish stains out of the nail surface and offers it a bright sheen altogether. Olive oil penetrates the nail cuticles to repair and strengthen your nails.

Ingredients:

  • Fresh lemon juice – 1 tablespoon
  • Olive oil – 3 tablespoons

The first step is mixing the above ingredients and heating this combination in the microwave till it is slightly warm. The following step is massaging this resultant mixture on your nails and soaking your fingertips in it for the duration of 20 minutes. Keep it all night and the next morning wash your nails.

Sea Salt Soak

  • Lemon essential oil – 4 drops
  • Wheat germ oil – 4 drops

Directions:

Mix all the above ingredients well and immerse your nails on the resultant solution for the duration of 15 minutes. Then, pat dry and afterward, apply a hand cream. For effective results, follow this natural treatment twice to thrice weekly.

Coconut Oil Remedy

Ingredients:

  • Coconut oil

Directions:

First of all, warm some coconut oil gently and later apply it on your nails. Gently massage for the duration of 5 minutes. This coconut oil massage improves blood circulation and keeps the nails moisturized. This remedy can be followed 2-3 times every day.

Method 2:

Ingredients:

  • Coconut oil – ¼ cup
  • Lemon juice – a little

Directions:

Warm the coconut oil and mix it with the lemon juice in 1 bowl. After that, soak your nails for 10 minutes in the solution before hitting the bed. It is recommended to wear gloves all night for best results.

Apple Cider Vinegar for Brittle Nails

Apple Cider VinegarACV is packed with nutrients such as vitamins, magnesium, potassium, calcium, and iron, which are healthy for the nails. Along with that, it helps to fight against nail infections due to its malic acid and acetic acid.

  • Raw, unfiltered ACV
  • Water

Lemon Juice Remedy

Lemon juice is a functional home remedy for brittle nails. It can help to strengthen and brighten the nails. Mix together the olive oil and fresh lemon juice in 1 small bowl. Later heat this mixture for several seconds in microwave until it is warm. Then, apply this mixture to your nails with a clean cotton swab prior to your bedtime. Wear gloves and keep it on overnight. The next morning wash it off. Follow this remedy one time daily for 2-3 weeks.

Milk & Egg Yolk

A lack of protein and calcium is one of the main reasons for brittle nails. Luckily, milk and egg yolk are some of the great natural sources of calcium and protein that helps to fortify the nails. The mixture gives intense moisture to your nails and prevents splitting or peeling. In addition, it makes the nails look whiter than before.

Ingredients:

  • Egg yolk – 1
  • Milk – 2 tablespoons

Directions:

At first, mix the egg yolk with the milk and beat well. Then, massage this resultant mixture onto the nails. Afterwards, clean it off after 20 minutes with lukewarm water.

Using Horsetail

HorsetailThis herb is rich in silica, calcium, manganese, iron along with tannins, fatty acids and flavonoids, which make the nails strong and healthy. Additionally, it helps to eliminate infections and white spots from nails.

Ingredients:

  • Dried horsetail herb – 2 teaspoons
  • Hot water – 1 cup
  • Olive oil

Directions:

The first step is adding the dried horsetail herb to the hot water. The next step is covering and steeping for ten minutes. Leave it to cool down and soak your nails for 20 minutes in this solution. Pat dry the nails and rub a little olive oil on them. Keep it on all night and wear gloves for best results. This remedy can be used 3-4 times each week. You can also consume 1-2 cups of horsetail tea every day for added benefits.

Vitamin E Oil Massage

Vitamin E oil keeps the nails moisturized and hydrated, thereby curing brittle nails effectively.  In addition, it helps to provide nourishment to your nail cuticles.

  • Vitamin E oil capsule

Directions:

Take several vitamin E oil capsules and extract the oil from them. Then, use this oil to coat all the nails and gently massage for five minutes before hitting the bed. Follow this cure every day to see remarkable changes in your nails.

Herbal Nail Mask for Brittle Nails

Hot Oil Treatment

You can use some natural oils such as almond oil, jojoba oil or olive oil for this treatment. The oils consist of the healthy fats and nutrients, which help to restore the damaged nails due to overuse of nail polish & nail polish removers.

Ingredients:

  • Olive oil
  • Jojoba oil
  • Almond oil

Directions:

Firstly, mix olive oil, jojoba oil and almond oil in equal amounts and later heat this mixture till it is warm to touch.  Take small cotton pieces and immerse it in the oil mixture. Then, start applying the soaked cotton pieces on your nails and cover the nails by wrapping foils around them. After ten minutes, remove the foil & cotton as well.
