That’s right, the cheapest ways to avoid sudden breakouts is by not touching your face. According to the Huffington Post, we touch our face anywhere from 2,000-3,000 times a day without even realizing it.

With that being said, something as simple as turning a doorknob, typing on a computer, or talking on our phone can cause us to come in contact with millions of germs.

Which means if you are prone to acne, your skin is at risk from exposure to bacteria, dirt, and even viruses. So next time you decide to touch your face, remember to wash.

Eat Healthy and Stay Hydrated

Have you ever heard the phrase, “You are what you eat”? Well, this phrase doesn’t necessarily apply here since acne can be caused by different variations.

However, in order to reduce acne breakouts, it’s important to eat food that will help enhance your clear skin, meaning stay away from junk food and eat more green.

Researchers also recommended that you drink a lot of water. Drinking water is a good way to flush out those internal toxins and most importantly, it allows your skin to stay hydrated.

Although there’s no evidence that says toxins cause breakouts, research workers at Vanderbilt University discovered that the more water we drink, the more our blood flow increases.

In other words, water increases blood pressure, raises alertness, and energy expenditure which gives our body the ability to fight off infections.

Cleanse Your Face Twice A Day

Throughout the course of the day, our face is exposed to makeup, dust, sweat, and lots of dirt. Which in the end, can result in clogged-pores.

This can also lead to blackheads and unwanted pimples. To help prevent that from happening, it’s important to wash your face twice a day: when you wake up and before you go to bed at night.

Or in some cases, whenever you feel it’s necessary to do so. For example, if you participate in active events that make your body sweat, you may need to wash your face more frequently than others to avoid clogged-pores.

But as long as you cleanse your face twice a day, your skin won’t disappoint you.

At Home Remedies For Acne

The one thing a lot of companies don’t tell you about their skin care products is that, it doesn’t work for everyone. Skin, like personalities, are all distinctive. To put it differently, our skin is a unique feature that can’t always be fixed by store bought products that promise overnight changes.

With this in mind, if your skin is anything like mine, sometimes you have to take a slower approach and treat your acne on a case-by-case basis.
If you’re up for the challenge, here are a few at home remedies to try:

Apply some apple cider vinegar ● Pure unfiltered apple cider vinegar
● Fresh water
Before applying the vinegar, you should wash your face with water and pat it dry. Then,  using a ratio of 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water, dip a cotton ball in vinegar and apply it directly to the blemish. Make sure you leave on for at least 10 minutes, or overnight. Reapply several times a day, washing face thoroughly after each time. Make sure to use a moisturizer afterwards as well if you feel like your skin is getting dry.
Make a cinnamon and honey mask ● 2 Tablespoons of honey
● 1 Teaspoon of cinnamon
● Paper towels
Begin by washing your face with water and pat dry. Mix 2 tablespoons of honey and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon together until they are thoroughly blended and have formed a sort of paste. Apply the mask to your face (or spot treat) and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse off completely, and pat your face dry. This is a sticky mixture, so make sure you have some paper towels at on hand.
When life hands you lemons, make lemon juice for your acne ● 1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice (approximately)
● Q-tips or cotton balls (optional)
● Yogurt (optional)
Rinse your face gently with water and pat dry. Dab fingers, a cotton ball, or a Q-tip in lemon juice and apply to pimple. If it stings, try mixing it first with a bit of yogurt.

Your Skin is Your Friend

Just like the heart, stomach, and brain, your skin is an organ. In fact, your skin the biggest organ on your body that protects you from bacteria, viruses, infections. You shouldn’t take your skin for granted.

Instead, try and take care of it and allow it to prosper. The point is, using harsh acne products can damage the skin beyond repair. Leaving your skin exposed and prone to infections.
