Best Overall Exercise Equipment For Home

Keeping fit is a basic necessity to avoid certain complications. However, most people have limited time to go to the gym due to the nature of their work. If you would like to workout from time to time, you can turn your garage, studio apartment or a part of your living room into a workout studio. Although you might lack top-of-the-line equipment, you just need a few exercise equipment to keep fit.

Before you start buying the exercise equipment for home, you should learn more about gym equipment to determine what you will buy. You can research online, get advice and opinions from friends who have done the same or from a gym instructor.

With such information, you will be able to formulate a budget, know the equipment you need and determine whether the space available will be enough. A stationary bike is one of the best equipment you can have in your home because it has similar benefits to cycling outside.

Moreover, these bikes can either be recumbent or upright equipment depending on what you prefer and works for you. These are the best-at-home workout equipment that you can use to exercise without leaving your house:

1. Adjustable Kettlebell

If you are looking to do kettlebell at home and you don’t want to spend on a whole set, an adjustable kettlebell is the best option. This is a multi-piece work-out equipment that has a handle and various work weights that can be added or removed as needed.

Adjustable kettlebells are affordable, portable and occupy less space making it an ideal option for people who have limited space. This equipment is seven items in one. This means that you can adjust the weight from 10 pounds to 40 pounds depending on the workout.

2. Weighted Jump Rope

A weighted jump rope has a number of benefits which include improved agility, footwork, coordination, endurance and quickness. In addition, besides improving your heart rate, it can be effective in promoting weight loss and increasing strength.

When using this rope to exercise, make sure that you’ve enough space and you have removed any breakable items to avoid damages when you sway left or right when jumping. Finally, to amp the intensity during a workout, add double-unders, high knees or criss-cross your legs while jumping.

3. Yoga Mat

If you are to exercise in your home, you need a yoga mat to avoid slipping on your carpet or hardwood flooring. In addition, the mat will provide comfort and support while working out by stabilizing your body and keeping you from slipping. Remember, if you are to do yoga exercises, the mat will protect your knees, head, neck, elbows, wrist and ankles.

4. Adjustable Dumbbells

Although the long rack of dumbbells in a gym is great, you have limited space in your home and you cannot have it. Therefore, the only option to tone and strengthen your muscles is to buy adjustable dumbbells which are available with a storage rack for easy storage. After you’ve used the equipment, you can slide them under your couch or bed.

5. Mini Resistance Bands

Resistance bands are inexpensive, easy to store and allows you to perform strength-training exercises without using weights. There are longer versions of resistance bands but mini resistance bands are also effective in stretches and mobility exercises. There are different types of resistance bands, you can choose depending on how you intend to use them, their levels of resistance and budget.

6. Soft Medicine Ball

Medicine balls can be used to provide exceptional strength and cardio training. This ball can be used to isolate muscle groups in your body, training, trimming and toning your body. You can tap it on the floor or on the wall and they are available in different weights from 4 pounds to 40 pounds.

You don’t need to use a traditional medicine ball because the soft one lasts longer and still provides weights. Most soft medicine balls are made using a durable rubber shell with a textured coat to facilitate holding and gripping the ball when working out.

Some are designed to bounce so that you can perform specific kinds of exercises. It is entirely up to you to determine the type of medicine ball you should buy by considering factors such as bouncing, price, and weight.

7. Foam Roller

After working-out consecutively, you might get worn out or less motivated for an intensive workout session. You can use a foam roller to prepare your muscles for the next intensive workout. If you know how to use a foam roller, it can help to increase flexibility in your back, hamstrings, and quad.

In addition, it can help you ease muscle soreness after exercising for a long period of time. If you are considering buying home exercise equipment, you need to gather the necessary information, plan and then execute your plan.

Thereafter, you can add more equipment as you advance and need more physical workouts. Finally, just like any other equipment in your home, you need to maintain and repair your workout equipment regularly.
