5 Benefits of Colloidal Silver

In recent years, the increased use of antibiotics has led to a greater level of resistance making it a less effective treatment for many people. In order to find a solution to this problem, viable alternatives in the form of natural products have become more widespread in their use for dealing with certain health issues.

Colloidal Silver, for example, has been used for centuries to fight off cold and other common viruses and there has been an increase in its demand due to people becoming immune to antibiotics.

What is colloidal silver?

Colloidal silver is a form of silver which is made through a combination of silver proteins, ionic silver and silver colloids. It is available in the form of a liquid, nasal spray, and ointment. Colloidal simply means a type of silver which doesn’t get dissolved in the liquid.

People use this mineral as a dietary supplement to help them stay safe from a vast array of ailments. It has been found to be effective against a lot of viral, bacterial and yeast infections and is often considered to be better than antibiotics at fighting such infections.

Benefits of colloidal silver

Silver binds with oxygen molecules to help prevent the respiration process of the bacteria and viruses. It also has the ability to block the respiration of these germs by attaching to their membrane in an ionized form. Silver can, for some reason, bind to the DNA of these viruses to prevent its replication and is therefore able to prevent their growth. Let us take a look at some of the other possible benefits of using silver.

It is antibacterial in nature

As aforementioned, colloidal silver has the ability to not only kill but prevent the growth of bacteria. It does this effectively without us becoming resistant to it, unlike antibiotics. By using Colloidal Silver as an alternative you will therefore not be put at risk of joining the rising number of people who are developing resistance to antibiotics and are suffering as a result.

Better skin health

When it comes to wounds, we want to make sure that not only are they healing quickly but are also not prone to getting infected. Colloidal Silver helps to speed up the healing process and with its antibacterial properties ensures too that the wound doesn’t get infected.

Following extensive research it was concluded that colloidal silver can be used to treat infections like thrush, burns, periodontitis and even fungal infections like ringworms etc. People who suffer from skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis can find relief from this supplement too as it will soothe and repair the affected area.

For eye and ear infections

Many people have suffered from pink eye during their lifetime. It is caused as a result of a viral or bacterial infection which affects the topmost layer of the eye. Using colloidal silver on the infected eye allows it to electromagnetically attract the harmful bacteria and send it to our bloodstream in order to get flushed out of our system.

This form of silver has proven its worth for ear infections where a wide spectrum of bacteria may be involved in causing an infection. Whereas Antibiotics may kill all the bacteria present, Colloidal silver will eradicate the specific bacteria causing the ear infection.

For prevention of cold and flu

Colloidal Silver is used for the cold and flu and tackle problems arising from these including; congestion, sinusitis and stuffy nose. It has even been effective in its use for swine flu in either a prevention or recovery phase. Colloidal silver is available in the form of nasal spray where it is effective in providing relief to people suffering from sinusitis.

Using a few drops of the silver in the nasal cavity and tilting the head back to allow for the mucus to pass down the throat can really help ease your suffering. A recent study also pointed out that the pathogens which were responsible for causing inflammation in the respiratory tract were also tackled with the colloidal silver. This resulted in fewer episodes of asthma and reactions to allergy.

Fights off pneumonia

When it comes to modern science, somehow it has failed somewhat to be effective for the patients who suffer from ailments like bronchitis and pneumonia.

Both of these can occur as a result of a bacterial or viral infection but regardless of the pathogen which is causing them our first line of defence is invariably an antibiotic. Not surprisingly though this doesn’t always work. This is why colloidal silver is effective in this instance as it has both antibacterial and antiviral properties which mean that it works against all such attacks.

You can either ingest Colloidal Silver or breathe it directly in to the lungs so it gets to work straight away. When Colloidal Silver gets in to contact with bacteria in the lungs it begins to tackle it promptly and provides relief within a few days. If not this, you can also use the colloidal silver with some nebulizer; a teaspoon for 10 times a day should suffice in this case. It will help fight off pathogen attacks and help you feel good.

These are just some of the many ways people have been using colloidal silver to improve their health. Although its historical prominence in the world of medicine may not be seen at the same levels today, this mineral still helps thousands to feel better while suffering from common health issues.

During the early 19th century, silver lost its worth in the market because it wasn’t as profitable for the pharmaceutical industry as other natural minerals. However, with in-depth recent studies and modern research techniques it is gaining back its lost value as a strong antibacterial mineral which helps to eradicate bacteria and other pathogens.

Generally, colloidal silver is considered safe for use but it is still recommended that you consult your doctor before you start using it yourself.
