Fibroid

Fibroid is a common epidemic today among black women. In the past, it was rare to find a young and unmarried lady with fibroid, but today, it is no more a thing of surprise to see such.

Fibroid is a non-cancerous growth that forms in or around the uterus (womb) of a woman. Cancerous fibroids are rare and they are called Leiomyosarcoma.

It is speculated that the cause of fibroid is not known and a lot of guesses are made as to the causes.

But, this is not true.  Nothing happens without a cause and there are some factors responsible for triggering fibroid. I have grouped the causes into three groups to make it easier to understand.

3 Causes of Fibroids

  1. Thought and Emotions

The field of body-mind medicine, also known as Psychotherapy has made us know that all diseases start in the mind. Negative thoughts and emotions cause and feed diseases while positive ones prevent and reverse diseases.

The thought pattern or emotion that causes fibroid tumors and cysts is resentment and nursing hurt from a partner. Women who feel they’ve experienced a blow to the feminine ego and hold on to the hurt always come down with fibroid.

Many women are enduring marriages and not enjoying it at all. Some are living with resentment and hatred towards their spouse or his family members. Some hurts or resentment women have might not be from their husband, it might be from their own family or a close friend.

Wherever the hurt is coming from, you don’t have to hold it in. Let it out and forgive all who have hurt you. Confront those you need to confront, speak to people who you feel should know how they’ve hurt you, or just forgive them from your heart and let go.

When you’ve done this, then you replace the negative thought and feeling with this: I release the pattern in me that attracted this experience, I create only good in my life.

In some cases, it is better to walk away from an abusive relationship than trying to fix it. You are the one wearing the shoes and you should know the right thing to do.

Avoid all kinds of emotional or psychological stress. Just like physical stress, they affect your health in many ways and even lead to incurable diseases.

  1. Diet

After correcting your thought pattern and emotions, the next thing you should work on is your diet. This fast-food diet and highly refined foods are actually causing harm and no good at all.

Family history or genetics cannot make you have fibroid if your lifestyle and diet are right. Your diet is the trigger point and not your faulty genes.

Diet plays a huge role in preventing and reversing chronic diseases. There are foods that cause and feed fibroid and there are also foods that reverse and prevent fibroid.

Foods that feed fibroid are excess red meat, animal proteins like milk, eggs, and poultry, caffeine, alcohol, highly refined and processed foods, unnatural chemicals and food additives, preservatives, and taste enhancers.

These substances mentioned mess up with your hormones and metabolism. There are also toxic and poisonous and the way the body handles toxins when all channels of elimination are blocked is to create a bag and put them all inside.

This bag is what is known as tumors and some of them can be malignant (cancerous). In the case of fibroid, these growths are non-cancerous.

The best thing to do is to stop feeding the growth by eliminating from your diet totally those foods mentioned above. Then you replace them with healthy and life-giving foods like unrefined grains, non-genetically modified foods, fruits and veggies, nuts and seeds, and clean water.

  1. Skin and hair care products

High levels of estrogen and progesterone have been linked to fibroids. The function of these hormones is to regenerate the lining of the uterus during each menstrual cycle.

High levels of estrogen and progesterone stimulate the development of fibroid. The fibroid stops growing and even shrinks when the levels of these hormones reduce.

One of the main causes of this hormonal imbalance is products women use on their skin and hair. Chemical-based body care products contain dangerous chemicals like phthalates and parabens that disrupt hormone and metabolism and cause fibroids.

Lauren Wise is an epidemiologist and she conducted a study on black women from 1997 – 2009. In the cause of this study, she discovered that black women who used hair relaxers and products containing phthalates and parabens have a higher chance of having fibroids.

These chemicals cause hormonal imbalance and a host of other health problems including cancers and fibroid. If you want to prevent or reverse fibroid, just switch to natural health products.

These chemicals can also be found in laundry detergents. Use wholly organic products and detergents to reduce your risks of having fibroid or reverse it.

Low levels of vitamin D

A deficiency of vitamin D causes fibroid. Women with fibroid who expose themselves to sunlight or take quality vitamin D supplements found out that their fibroid starts shrinking.

This vitamin is very effective at shrinking fibroid. Sunlight is the cheapest source of vitamin D. Expose yourself to moderate sunlight daily. Avoid animal products and supplements as they can be extremely toxic.

Symptoms of Fibroids

Many women do not feel any symptoms at all and therefore, they don’t know that they have fibroids. Other feel symptoms like:

  • Abdominal pains
  • Menstrual pains or cramps
  • Heavy or painful period or both
  • Discharge of blood clots during menstruation
  • Lower back pain
  • Menstruation lasting longer than usual
  • Frequent urination
  • Fullness or pressure in your lower abdomen (large fibroids)
  • Painful sex or other kinds of discomfort during sex (dyspareunia)
  • Enlarge or swollen abdomen
  • Constipation
  • Anemia (Due to heavy flow)
  • Miscarriage during pregnancy
  • Leg pain
  • Premature labor
  • Weight gain (large fibroid)
  • Infertility, etc.

The severity of these symptoms and the size of the growth vary from women to women. The symptom felt also depends on the size, location of the tumor, and the number of tumors.

The first step to reverse fibroid is to correct your thought pattern, emotion, diet, body care products, laundry products, and expose yourself to sunlight regularly. These steps are highly important, you must do these if you want to see positive results.
