Let’s be honest for a moment. Nobody wants to age. And we definitely hate the signs of aging. All those wrinkles, loose skin, and so on. Now that are some signs that we would all want to eliminate, or at least slow down as much as possible.

Essential oils have proven to be quite an asset in the anti-aging treatment. And the best part is, some oils are even tailor made for oily skin. Most people are afraid to use oils on their oily skin because they think it will make their skin even more oily. But some essential oils help reduce sebum production, and re-balance your skin.

One of the most challenging parts about aging is wrinkles. And luckily, there are essential oils for wrinkles that will keep your skin smooth as long as possible.

That being said, let’s break down the essential oils that are good for your skin, no matter if you are young or old. I also have to note, always go for 100% pure and organic oils. Quality is definitely something to pay attention to.

Avocado oil

One thing that people do not like about avocado oil is the thick consistency. However, if you can withstand the consistency, avocado oil can do wonders for your skin. Avocado is rich in sterolins, compounds that reduce appearance of age spots. In addition, avocado softens your skin, and increases the amount of collagen. As we all know, collagen keeps the elasticity of your skin, a crucial part of looking young.

Pomegranate seed oil

Rich in vitamin C and other antioxidants, pomegranate seed oil can fight off those harmful free radicals that age your skin. The best part about the oil is that pomegranate is fast-absorbing. You just apply on your skin, and your skin will absorb it in a matter of seconds. Pomegranate is one of the better oils for reducing wrinkles and promoting elasticity. Recommended for dry and irritated skin.

Evening primrose oil

You can take this oil orally in capsule to help with menopause and other issues. When applied topically, the oil nourishes your skin with healthy compounds. The most important aspect is the oil is rich in omega-6 fatty acids that improve your skin’s barrier function. They also reduce inflammation, crucial in preventing signs of aging.

Rosehip seed oil

Extracted from the seeds of the rose plant, rosehip seed oil is high vitamin A. That means the oil can reduce scars. In addition, rosehip seed oil contains vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant that can help with skin dryness and wrinkles. Miranda Kerr claims this oil is the magic behind her good looks.

Raspberry seed oil

One of the rare oils on the list that are high in vitamin E and both omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. Raspberry seed oil is perfect for protecting your skin from environment damage. All those sun rays, pollution, and similar environmental damage factors are easier to cope with. You can even apply it as a sunscreen.

Sea buckthorn oil

For most people, sea buckthorn essential oil is relatively unknown. However, that should change. For one, the oil has impressive nutritional profile. For starters, it contains 12 times more vitamin C than oranges.

And it has 3 times more vitamin A than carrots. Add omega-6 fatty acids to the list, and this oil can help with regeneration and skin repair problems. But most importantly, this oil prevents damage done by free radicals.

Prickly pear seed oil

Another relatively unknown oil. New to the market, prickly pear seed oil is perfect as an anti-aging treatment. Best used for dry and mature skin. High in vitamin E and vitamin K, prickly pear seed oil will soften your skin and restore its elasticity. As for aging signs, the oil brightens dark circles.

Argan oil

If the previous two oils were relatively unknown, argan oil is a commodity in the beauty industry. Extracted from a unique tree found only in Morocco, argan oil is packed with healthy nutrients that are just perfect for the skin. Some of those ingredients include antioxidants, but also 80% essential fatty acids and vitamin E. All of those are common in cosmetic products in the beauty industry.

Marula oil

Marula and Argan oil have similar properties. The advantage of marula oil is it has 60% more antioxidants than argan oil. Thanks to the amount of antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory properties, marula oil can heal acne. In addition, the oil renews your skin’s cells, and improves the elasticity.

Grapeseed oil

Grapeseed oil is used in everything from face oils to body moisturizers. There is a simple reason for that. Grapeseed oil can help you get firm and tight skin, all while preventing pores from clogging.

Wheat germ oil

Rich in vitamin E and proteins, wheat germ oil helps your skin form new cells and improves circulation within. That makes it perfect for mature skin, as the circulation is not a strong side of aging skin. In addition, wheat germ revives dehydrated and dry skin, all while providing crucial nutrients for your skin’s health. Only downside is that people that are gluten-intolerant cannot use the oil.
