Cramps

During menstruation, it is common to feel discomfort able. You feel uneasy around your abdomen, thighs and lower back. The muscles around your womb keep contracting and relaxing to drop the built up lining. You might feel the crams emerge and some females might experience vomiting, headaches, diarrhea or nausea.

Those who feel the pain have a large amount of blood flow, they are having their first child, feeling sensation in prostaglandins, a hormone that affects your womb or this is their introductory period. Massage Therapy

The whole massage lasts for 20 minutes and you will find relief from the pain, which is making your life uncomfortable. The massager has to press some specific points around the abdomen, back and sides. It can be done with any lavender or marjoram oil.

But first dilute it with carrier oil like a vegetable or nut oil. You can also use grape seed oil or sweet almond oil. Mix 1 drop of essential oil with a teaspoon of carrier oil. Only then it will be safe.

You can also use any oil that has a sweet fragrance; the massager should be an expert, pressing certain parts precisely. Sniffing the lavender oil can make you fall sound sleep.

Avoid Some Foods

You need to eradicate certain foods during your menstruation, because these foods cause water retention and bloating. Give up the foods that contain lots of fats, caffeine, salt, carbonated beverages and give up all the drinks that have alcohol contents in them.

Giving up these foods can reduce your tension and cramps. Get habitual to drinking mint or ginger tea. You can also have a lemon mixed with warm water. If you feel the urge to have something sweet, better have strawberries or raspberries.

Heating Pad

Heat is used whenever you feel the cramps in any muscle of your body. Heat has anti-inflammatory effects on the muscles and makes them feel relaxed. It is as effective as having a pill to reduce pain and cramps. The next time you feel the cramps mushrooming, better have a heating pad or a hot water bottle.

Press the pad or the bottle on the part that is itching. Keep pressing it for 10 minutes at a stretch. There is another way, soak a clean cloth in boiling water and wring it around your lower abdomen area and back. Keep doing it many times and you will see the muscles relax and cramps vanish into thin air very soon.

Ginger

Ginger plays a vital role in curing dozens of diseases, and also can lessen cramps very easily. Its anti-inflammatory features help ginger in reducing the pain and the cramps. It also helps in healing nausea and soothes the shaky stomach. Get an inch of ginger piece and a cup of hot water. Soak the ginger piece in water and let it lie there for 10 to 15 minutes.

It will cool down in 15 minutes, just drink it down. If you feel the taste a little awkward or bitter, you can add honey to it, to sweeten it. You must make a habit to drink this tea at least 2 to 3 times a day, especially during the menstruation time.

Green Tea

Green tea also has a role to play when you think about reducing your cramps and pain. It contains flavonoids called catechins that have medicinal features. Green tea has natural antioxidant, anti-inflammation and analgesic features, which helps in easing the cramps and pain from the womb area. Get the tea leaves and put them in a cup of water.

Make the water boil and keep simmering for 3 to 5 minutes. Take it off the flame and let it cool down a little bit. Add some honey for a sweet taste. Filter it and sip it down. Do it at least 3, 4 times a day to find relief from pain and cramps. Get habitual to drinking green tea, the cramps dare not touch you.

Yogurt

It is a remedy that is used to cure many diseases. Yogurt has abundance of vitamin D and calcium. Their combination will make the pain and cramps die their own death. If you already are suffering from cramps, a bowl of plain yogurt will get you relief.

Have a bowl for 3 or 4 times a day to find relief. Make it a habit to eat yogurt regularly, it is good for your health and makes your bones stronger.

Peppermint Oil

Peppermint oil contains an ingredient called menthol, which is a famous decongestant and has features that reduces pain cum cramps. Nausea and headaches, which come along during the periods, also perish with its fresh and sweet fragrance only.

It has such a vast aura. You need to dilute it with a carrier oil to reap in its benefits. You can use coconut or jojoba oil as a carrier. Get 3 or 4 drops of peppermint oil and mix with 2 teaspoons of carrier oil. Apply this mixture on your lower abdomen and back. Rub gently and keep massaging for 15 to 20 minutes. It is enough to take once a day until you feel the cramps blow over.

Epsom Salt

Its other name is magnesium sulfate, which has anti-inflammatory and pain reducing features. When it is absorbed through your skin, it shows its magic. Get 1 or 2 cups of Epsom salt. Put them in your bathtub that is filled with warm water, which is 6 inches in height.

Stir the water with your hands vigorously and see the salt dissolve. Slide in and keep sitting in the water for about 20 minutes. Pat dry your body. You need to do it 2 or 3 days in advance, before the periods begin.

Fenugreek

Fenugreek seeds have lysine tryptophan-rich proteins. Fenugreek is famous for relieving the pain that helps reduce the period cramps. Soak 2 teaspoon of fenugreek seeds in a glass of water and leave it for the whole night. Drink it the first thing in the morning. 1 glass is enough for the day.

Aloe Vera

It also helps in reducing pain and cramps. 1/4 cup of Aloe Vera juice is enough for a day, better be regular and watch out that the Aloe Vera is organic.
